Our Roots
Kemp McGee Arts Culture & Community Foundation (KMACC) knows that our strength lies not only in our words, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.
In a world that mostly marginalizes and challenges the very existence of African-American culture and its people, KMACC works to uplift, nurture and celebrate the life, legacy, beauty and style that is uniquely our own.
Programs & Funding
Arts & Humanities
The Arts & Humanities program takes a multidisciplinary approach in development including discussions with authors and composers, art exhibitions, music and dance education, film screenings and live performances.
Programming is curated to be engaging, intellectually stimulating and insight creative exploration.
Community Engagement
The Community Engagement programming takes a grassroots approach to preserving and promoting the history, aesthetic and culture derived from the African diaspora.
A community functions at its best when everyone works together toward a common goal. Members of the community are invited to explore partnerships through a series of progressive events.
Scholarship & Grant Funding
The Kenneth & Dale Kemp Education Scholarship is a merit-based award given annually to a college student attending a four-year Historically Black College or University majoring in elementary education, engineering, journalism, computer science or the arts.
The Nouveau Noir Grant is awarded annually to a single student, musician, composer or ensemble exhibiting extraordinary commitment in producing work that is sourced from and reflects the Black American experience.
